The 900-FA Fire Alarm Relay ( EIR ) is used as part of a building's fire alarm system to send 24 VAC current to the central power supply panel. It also can be used to send current to a remote device, such as an annunciator, horn or auxiliary switch. This standard relay is self-contained and tamper resistant, and equipped with a nine-volt battery backup.

The 900-FA Fire Alarm Relay (Eir) is an electronic interface relay that provides silent, fail-safe arm and disarm of a fire alarm system.

This EIR relay has non-corrosive nickel plating and is suited for use in fire alarm panels. 900-FA features a FG terminal to allow connection to a photoelectric smoke detector. The EIR relay automatically detects a low battery condition and the dual relay output disables the outputs when the AC power is removed.

The 900-FA Fire Alarm Relay is an electro-mechanical device designed to provide power to the connected load for a period of time, up to 1 minute after power supplied by the central alarm system flashes or is discontinued (when in non-flash condition, with key actuation). The relay provides 10 amps at 120/240 volt AC.

Schlage's fire alarm relays are designed to coordinate and control the operation of two remote fire detectors, two separate alarms, or two alarm notification devices. The 900-FA Relay (in conjunction with a 900-FS or 900-FI module) can be configured for either re-latching or non-latching operation. The 900-FA Relay is intended for use in commercial sites where the need to coordinate more than four zones is required.
