Square D 9037-EG8 is a Cutler-Hammer product. This float switch has plug terminals for wiring application and an adjustable mounting bracket. It comes 4 terminals which are for: power supply, ground, instrument and switch leads. The Float Switch E uses the air column above the water seal to signal a fill-up in the float chamber. The compressor will go on and off until the float is full and shuts off. A spacer is included to prevent water intrusion into the switch if there is a difference between float height and tank height

The float switch is a 3-way, normally closed, adjustable float-level, dry, glass case switch that incorporates an integral nonadjustable sensing element mounted in a sealed chamber. The sensing element is a metallic ball with a rod extending upward to make contact at the ball level. This switch can be used without a control circuit if it senses an object underwater within its sensing range, or as a complete control system with 24 VAC or 48 VAC electrical output turn-on power in addition to the DC current required for the float mechanism
