The RHEEM 234440 is an Ignition Control that comes equipped with a cable. It can be used with natural gas units. This product measures 4-1/4 inches x 1-5/8 inches x 5-3/16 inches and weighs 1 lb(s). The warranty is set at 1 year.
This Ignition Control is intended for use with RHEEM brand furnaces. The Ignition Control module has 2 terminals and a 29" lead/cable. An Ignition Control Module, or Long Range Ignition Module, is used to improve reliability when the high frequency transformer has poor primary winding insulation or other conditions exist which will cause the arc in the primary winding to bridge over and create arcing in the secondary of the high frequency transformer (blower). It basically detects arcing in the transformer primary and uses an internal relay to open before the igniter gets destroyed by over-voltage or over-current conditions
Rheem includes an Ignition Control with each of their multi-stage gas water heaters. This 3/4" diameter by 6' Ignition Control wire and connector assembly is used to connect the Ignition Control Module (ICM) to the ignition coil. The ICM may be purchased separately from the ICM Coil.
The Ignition Control Module (ICM) is an electronic device used to control the ignition timing of your system-based Rheem water heater. The ICM is mounted on the gas valve and receives power from the gas wiring harness located at the rear of the unit. The timing circuit for the ICM is powered by 120VAC through a 5' heavy gauge multi-conductor cable attached to the rear of the unit. If you intend on replacing just the ICM part, be sure to replace it with a new one that complies with Underwriters Laboratories standards.
The RHEEM RTE-1 Ignition Control Module allows the user to increase or lower the gas valve in specific steps instead of full open or full close. The Ignition Control requires a specific ignition control cable and must be used with a RHEEM Gas Valve. The RTE-1 is not compatible with ball valves, uni-valves or thermo valve systems.
The Ignition Control Module 234440 is ideal for those that are planning on upgrading their current system. The robust build and compact size of this part is easy to install, and makes it easy to upgrade your current system. As well as being reliable, the Rheem brand has been trusted for many years.
The Ignition Control Module (ICM) provides user-settable, programmable functions to the condensing unit to address the following conditions:/
