The 2 second purge timer helps to prevent food spills in the microwave oven. When the cook time and end of cook time signals are given, two seconds later the magnetron is shut off, preventing food spills in the event that a container is not moved quickly enough after signaled.

Designed for safety and loaded with convenience features, the Honeywell 2-Second Purge Timer is great for replacing a worn out original or adding to your system if you have multiple heaters. This mechanical Purge Timer shuts off the gas flow to your heater once the pilot lights a designated number of seconds after being lit. It's simple to use and easy to install -- simply mount it on your gas valve outlet, turn it to the wide open position, then connect the gas supply line to it and the gas supply line from the appliance to the wall.
