The two most common causes for a refrigerator or freezer to stop working properly are the fan drive and the overload kit. The fan drive controls the speed the fan in the machine runs at to keep cool air moving through your appliance, and is often caused by a seized up motor. The overload kit is used to make sure that there are enough temperatures sensors in your unit so there isn't one that fails from excess use.
