This is a 1-1/2" Black Split Nut Buttress Union. The Buttress Type Union is for applications where the gas pressure varies. The design of the buttress type gasket allows for automatic adjustment as pressure changes from either direction. An inherent characteristic of this design is that these unions are not recommended to be used in applications where the pressure will remain constant and will be operating at greater than 100 PSI.

Designed for applications that require a split nut or similar configuration. Manufactured from carbon steel and zinc-plated to resist rusting.
