The VENT LIMT SWITCH L280 M/R is a replacement, dual function switch that fits most gas ignition systems. It combines the switch for both pilot light and vent controls into one device.

The VENT LIMT SWITCH L280 M/R mounts to the cabinet wall by the landing duct to prevent the fan from running when no cooking is occurring. The switch features a thermal de-rate function and provides an audible alarm if the furnace still has hot components, indicating that the venting system should be checked or serviced.

The VENT LIMT SWITCH L280 M/R should only be used on central forced air systems where a need has been identified as an odor concern or a humidity issues to the house. Williams Comfort Products recommends that the switch be installed so that the temperature setting is at least 10°F above the intended temperature setting for the house.

The VENT LIMT SWITCH L280 M/R is designed to be mounted in a "horizontal" position. The VENT LIMT SWITCH L280 M/R should be replaced if found to be inoperable, if it leaks, or if the internal components are found to be damaged.

On most models, the air vent system should be operated when the outlet plenum temperature gauge indicates 50°F ± 10°F (10°C ± 5°C) or less. This switch should not be adjusted.
