York's Control Board features the Microprocessor-based HP4 system. It provides ultimate protection for the motor, compressor, and fan motor by safeguarding them from high temperature and overload conditions.

The York S1 Series Heat Pump has a new 4-Stage control board that includes the following: Stage 1 = Fan Only mode for winter start up. Stage 2 = Defrost heat exchange begins to warm the refrigeration circuit. Stage 3 = Modulation, Heat Pump begins to cycle on and off constantly as thermal switch signal is alternately grounded on the high (R) and low (F) temperature stages. Stage 4 = Normal Heat Mode, Refrigerant exits evaporator coil producing heat for distribution through home or office.
