Limit Switch - Auto Reset (Flanged Airstream)
The Ruud/Airstream Limit Switch - Auto Reset lets you know when to change your furnace filter. This 180 degree gas furnace limit switch switches off when the filter is dirty and resets when the filter is changed. It comes with a white"ON" indicator light and a red "OFF" indicator light. The high and low limit switch contacts are designed for use with compatible Rheem, Ruud, and Airstream brand gas furnaces.
Auto-Reset - A limit control which upon actuation, the switch will change position for reclosing. When it reaches the set point, an internal mechanism (has notches) is moved to the reset position.
Auto reset limit switch. Designed for right or left hand threaded pipe connections. Serves to automatically shut off the gas burner when the gas flow is reversed, and automatically restarts the gas burner when the flow is resumed in proper direction.

The Limit Switch is designed to monitor the limit of the evaporator coil and will throw the heat on/off switch on the blower motor when it reaches its limiting temperature.
The limit switch is an electrically operated switch that opens and closes a circuit depending on a control signal.
