5/16-18 Metal Tool

The Helicoil HEL2288-5 MTRK is a 5/16-18UNC x .162 Thread Diameter, Metal Tool. This tool is manufactured from cold formed steel wire for easy installation. It provides smooth and consistent thread engagement with no slippage. The compact head size allows use in close quarters and clearance restrictions where standard length tools cannot fit.

Accurately and efficiently drill a 5/16-18 HeliCoil in one simple operation. This tool has a 2.38" semi-length, and the 1/2" shank is ground to a 60 degree angle. The overall length of the tool is 3.31".

The Helicoil Model HEL2288-5 Metal Tool is specifically designed to create a helical coil thread insert in hardened and tempered steel. This tool has five cutting rings with eight cutting tips on a shank size of 5/16-18UNC and is used in a drill press. One suitable for replacing parts that are difficult to get at, such as nuts on some aircraft, or motor mounts.

Gas-tight Threaded Fasteners. Ranges: 3/8 to 9/16, 1/2 to 13/16, 5/8 to 7/8.
