Baldwin ER16 Emergency Exit Devices 5399 190 C THICK DOOR KIT FOR EMERGENCY EXIT HANDLESET are designed for use on fire rated doors with either metal or wood cores when used with a Baldwin Strike System. For use with Exif low force emergency exit devices, metals or glass do not provide sufficient impact resistance and will not withstand the forces of sudden use or forced entry situations.

Complete this project and transform your Baldwin Lockset into a fire rated exit lockset. Baldwin has developed a Thick Door Kit (5399 190 C) for use with our Emergency Exit Handlesets that are designed to meet or exceed the requirements of UL325 (minimum 30 minutes fire resistance).

The Baldwin 5399 190 C Contemporary 2-3/4 in. thick door jam for emergency egress applications, and is part of a complete collection of contemporary hardware for the commercial industry. This door jamb features an all-aluminum construction and a polished-chrome finish that will complement modern applications. This emergency egress handle has a self-latching unit with a 1/2 in. throw to lock over threshold or from the bottom of the frame, and includes four nickel plated, tamper resistant bolts with concealed steel strike plates that meet ADA requirements.

If your exterior doors have the horizontal bars to latch locks this kit will provide the increased thickness of your door to help relieve any binding occurring and allow your exit hardware to operate smoothly.

EXIT hardware with security prong. This kit includes the LockAide Direct-Fit Door Thickening Adapter to be placed on the back of all Baldwin Latches and Deadbolts, (except Space Savers), for added security when installing an emergency exit device.

This ultra-thick door kit can be used for all Baldwin hardware with backset 83/4" (22mm) or greater. A 1/2" spacer, which is included with the kit, is used to attain the 1" (25mm) thick door needed for compliance with California Title 24, Section 1009.48.05 and the International Building Code® (IBC®) 2012.
