The Baldwin 5510260P Privacy Latch complements the wide variety of Baldwin Estate Knobs and Lever Handles. It is designed for use on hollow doors that do not have a privacy latch cut out.

From Baldwin's Estate Collection, the 5510/260 Privacy Latch features a sleek chrome finish that easily coordinates with any style of home decor. Locks are ideal for bedrooms, bathrooms, and additional entry doors. This privacy latch protects against unexpected unwanted entry from children, pets, and others that require privacy. The high quality privacy latch provides a secure locking mechanism to help prevent forced entry into your home.

A replacement privacy/security latch keeps the latch in the privacy position. A security latch is recommended for exterior doors when used in conjunction with Baldwin's secure-t Lock, 793, 795, 796. The 5510-260 is used on the 36" x 80" Estate Style and Double or Single Dummy doors. The latch sits 3 1/4" wide to fit a 2 3/8" door stile

Baldwin 5510 privacy latch featured a unique button design. This Baldwin knob style has a 1/ 2 " round projection. Privacy latches have an active latch that keeps the latchbolt engaged in the strike when there is no tension on the deadbolt lever. The latching function of a privacy latch is triggered by pushing in the thumbturn on the interior side of the door and rotating it to the left, which rotates a locking cam.
