Rheem's TXV valve is used for more convenient water expansion and has a bleed port to release condensation.

Expansion valves are designed to replace old style expansion tanks to provide expansion and make-up water for closed loop heating systems. These valves have a bleed port and are used in some applications where the valve body is inaccessible. The TXV has internal or external discharge ports and the performance ranges up to 8 GPM.
