The Amana 4-Cell Orifice Plate is designed to ensure the air and gas mixture in any hydronic system is correct. It helps to prevent hydro-lock and/or boil-back by allowing water to flow freely through it without impeding the flow of water or gas, while minimizing negative pressure drop across the entire heat exchanger.

The Four-Cell Orifice Plate is used for galvanic or electrolytic emission reduction systems. It does not include a high temperature gasket. Gaskets should be ordered separately. Any one of the four cells is individually shut off by an electrohydraulic valve controlled by air pressure supplied to the valve through external lines. The valves are usually used on emission devices and a check valve is used in air line to avoid an inrush of air into the system when the cell is opened.
