R410A Restrictor Orifice

The R410A Restrictor Orifice is used with the Weather-Pak series of in-wall and in-ceiling packaged air conditioners. It is also used as an accessory to the indoor, split system unit, where it restricts refrigerant flow. Provides relief for the refrigeration system when the air conditioning system operates at excessive pressures.

The Amana R410a Restrictor Orifice for Furnace and Heat Pump is a replacement part for the NH8 and NH9 outside units. It is responsible for controlling the air pressure when refrigerant connections are being made. The orifice has a long life rating.

This orifice fits all models of R410A air conditioners produced from 1993-1995 including the Frigidaire Affinity, Coleman XG and General Electric Superia. Some models of R410A units produced from 1997-2001 use a two piece restrictor located in the refrigerant line at the outdoor unit. If you have a two piece restrictor then you do not need this part. This orifice is designed to plug into the Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV) port on the outdoor unit.

The Amana restrictor orifice is designed to fit the following model(s): RCD18NAHWW, RCD16NAHWW, RCD14TEEHWW, and RCD14AHWW. The Amana restrictor orifice quickly and efficiently reduces excess refrigerant flow to the air conditioner evaporator coil. This in turn causes the compressor to operate more efficiently which ultimately will conserve energy and reduce utility costs.

By installing this restrictor orifice in the refrigerant line, you can help reduce the overall line pressure. This helps to prevent line bursts caused by over-pressurization.
