Detailed Item Description: MFG P/N 30GB660002 - 4.8 Ohm, 50w, 240v NTC Thermister for Furnace applications
The Thermister senses when the element is on and monitors the temperature. It is a self-contained unit that includes a sample of insulation from the outside of the furnace wall to provide a reference temperature. To enable communication between the Carrier Transmitter and Receiver, one end of the Thermister is fabricated into a plug. Its hallmark is a black outer jacket with red, blue and white wires.
Thermistor, temperature sensing resistor with 20 k-ohms at 100 Degrees C maximum resistance. Thermistor, temperature sensing resistor with 20 k-ohms at 27 degrees C minimum resistance. A thermistor is a laboratory instrument used to measure the temperature of its environment. It senses temperature change and converts that into an electrical signal. The thermistor is sensitive to infrared radiation emitted by all objects warmer than absolute zero, and converts this radiation into a voltage or current that can be measured using a voltmeter or multimeter.
A thermistor is a sensor whose resistance changes with the temperature. It is also called a "temperature coefficient resistor" (TCR), or simply a "resistor", since its resistance changes in proportion to the absolute temperature as measured in kelvin on the Kelvin scale.
