DEFROST CONTROLLER
The Carrier DEFROST CONTROLLER is a major enabler that allows for flexible control over the defrost cycle, providing convenience and comfort. The electronic defrost circuit enables the control to support defrost requirements up to a specific 35 kW (depending on specific line) through a direct connection to the heating element and the power supply, or other like devices.
Improve the efficiency of the refrigeration cycle by adjusting the DEFROST CONTROLLER. To reduce the temperature of discharge air in freezer and refrigerator sections. The controller is mounted on the suction line between the evaporator and condenser.
The Carrier defrost controller is a factory installed mechanical timer that allows the unit to operate at low temperatures without damaging the evaporator coil. The defrost control regulates how long and how often an outdoor 160 or 9000 Btu furnace will start in order to keep the evaporator coil from freezing up on low temperature winter days, HOWEVER THE FURNACE WILL STILL RUN FOR ITS PROGRAMMED RUN TIME EACH HOUR.
The Carrier HH660027 defrost controller is a part of our refrigeration product line. This product is 83% efficient and it will automatically defrost after the thermostat reaches the temperature you set it at.
The Carrier Defrost Controller is specifically designed to work with Carrier Air Conditioners. For optimal performance, install the Defrost Controller in a location that provides easy access to the defrost control and power cord
The defrost controller is a device used to cool and heat refrigerators or freezers. An electric refrigerator is powered by an electric heating device, which heats up the cooling unit inside the appliance. However, when frost develops on the cooling unit, it must be warmed up to melt the frost. A switch known as a defrost control element is used to turn off power to the heating element so it does not begin to heat up the cooling unit during full-time defrost cycles.
The Carrier defrost controller meets the requirements of the Energy Star program for residential refrigerator-freezers. It is designed to reduce standby power consumption by controlling defrost cycles, and it can be attached to any Carrier or compatible brand 2-wire control board in a rated temperature range of 0° F to 90° F.
