Direct Spark Ignition Control: Optimus is the ONLY true 100% Direct Spark ignition burner. The exclusive valveless, dual flame, venturi design delivers a consistent, clean burner flame that eliminates all pilot lights and potential hot-spots and flare ups. This provides superior searing capability with no flavor-killing cold spots, faster time to boil for better hot water and home canning, a faster recovery from flame out and fewer ignition headaches to ruin dinner.

This direct spark ignition control from Carrier is for use with fireplaces and wood-burning stoves. Its control electronics are assembled into a single wiring unit that installs directly onto the flue gas manifold and replaces the manual blower switch. Features include a double ring burner assembly, which minimizes flame lapping at the edge of the firebox, as well as an optional blower speed selector switch, which allows the homeowner to match the fan speed to their desired heating level.

When Carrier was looking to create the most powerful direct spark ignition HVACR system, they turned to Stork for a programmable controller capable of withstanding their demanding combustion conditions. Together, they created Carrier SparkIgnition4k, a system that maximizes comfort and energy efficiency by optimizing gas valve operation and ensuring adequate airflow. The result is a system that automatically manages combustion for greater reliability and efficiency.

In two stage, semi-modulating mode, the ignition will cycle up to 100 percent of output when high chamber pressure requirements call for maximum combustion efficiency and then quickly modulate down as pressure drops, maintaining a robust but highly efficient combustion flame. In Eco mode, the output will cycle at minimum to well below 20 percent of total output until sensing high chamber pressure when it will modulate up to approximately 60 percent of its full output capability.
