The Carrier P270-3000PL is a 4 Wire photo-electrically operated smoke detector which detects the presence of smoke via light. The P270-3000PL is a non-light obscuring, screwless flush mount model with a low profile enclosure. The P270 Series includes field selectable sounders with various audible alarm capabilities from single tones to supervisory signals, and is equipped with both industry standard photoelectric and ionization sensor technology, providing the most reliable protection available.

The Carrier P270-3000PL Bryant/ P2703000PL 4-Wire Photoelectric Smoke Detector provides both photoelectric and ionization protection. This detector can be used in fire applications with heat sources such as cooking equipment or clothes dryers because it will not activate during normal operation. When triggered, the detector's relay operates at 15 Amps.

The Carrier P270-3000PL Pi System is a 4-wire, photoelectrically controlled fire and smoke detection device designed for use in commercial hoods, ducts, and plenums. A fast responding control relay is an industry standard feature. The control relay is either a normally open (NO) open contact N/O which will operate only in response to a photo detector signal or a normally closed (NC) close contact or combination N/O/NC which will operate in response to the fire condition only as well as a NO smoke condition. If two detectors are installed, one detector must be a fire
