The 54220301 is a NXP Semiconductors HID iCLASS compliant multifunctional reader supporting both proximity and contact smart card applications. The reader has a built-in fingerprint sensor and LED indicator as well as a built-in tamper detection. Next to the biometric sensor is an LED indicator that lights up in red or green depending on the type of card being used. When using a proximity cards the LED will be green, when using a contact smart card the LED will change from green to red. In case of implant tampering, the LED changes back from red to green.
