Danze Faucet Parts: Repairs

Danze faucets may not be as popular as Delta or Moen, but they have incredible products that are durable and stylish. Danze faucets range from $200-$400.

Lower cost Danze faucets come with either a ceramic disk or ball-stylish valves. The high-end ones are exclusively fitted with ceramic disk valves and are the best to buy. They are precisely constructed to offer accurate flow, and they rarely leak. On the other hand, ball valves are not well engineered and may leak.

Removing a Danze Faucet Handle

Regular and hard water adversely affects the faucet valves, not sparing the ceramic disk ones. When the faucet flow is restricted or leaks, you should repair it early as possible. To repair these parts, you can remove the valves and clean them, or replace the rubber parts of the valve. The process differs from one faucet model to another. To begin with, remove the handle and the hex screw on the handle, or the Phillips screw found under the cap on the top part of the handle.

The Danze kitchen Sirius line of bathroom and shower faucets comes with a complicated handle design, which may require professional help. Like the Sirius sink faucet handle, the Danze Sirius shower handle is quite simple to remove.

Check the bottom part of the metal forming the handle, and you will notice a hex head screw. Rotate this screw counterclockwise using a hex wrench. The handle will slide off the cover exposing the Phillips screws that fix the cover. Remove these screws to get off the cover, accessing the valve.

How to Replace Danze Faucet Cartridge

Scale or other debris can scratch the ceramic disk, making it leak. This kind of damage has no repair. Therefore, you will have to replace the cartridge. Before taking apart the faucet, you should have the new cartridge already. Also, it is essential to know your cartridge model, which you can check online.

  1. To get the cartridge out, start by draining the faucet, rotating the shutoff valves, and removing the faucet handle. On the lower part of the handle, remove the retaining nut with a wrench or locking pliers. Unscrew the cartridge and remove it. Some cartridges are designed to pull out.
  2. Check the rubber gaskets on the valve seats and replace them. Attach the new cartridge and screw it, finally tighten the retaining nut, and fix the handle.

Fixing a Leaking Ball-Valve Faucet

  1. After removing the faucet handle, unscrew the cap by wearing a rubber glove. Then loosen the retaining nut to free the ball using a wrench or pliers. Using a screwdriver, remove the springs and gaskets in the valve seat. Replace the spring ball if it's damaged and the gaskets. Put back the cap, the handle, and everything else. You are done!
  2. If the Danze faucet handle is leaking, you should stop the leak by tightening the valve retaining nut as per the Danze (Gerber) website. This can also prevent the spout from leaking.
