Delta Kessler Faucet Installation

Delta Kessler Faucet Installation

The Delta Kessler faucet is a stainless kitchen faucet. The stainless design makes it different from other kitchen faucets.

Installing a new Delta Kessler faucet is not too challenging if you have the right tools and procedure to follow. Every faucet calls for a different installation process according to its model. However, most faucets are usually installed in almost the same way. We will discuss installing the Delta Kessler faucet. When choosing a faucet, it is important to consider the number of holes you need to fill and how you want it to appear. The installation process may slightly change.

A new Delta Kessler faucet will likely come with all the materials during installation. Cross-check your installation kit to be sure before you start the installation process. Also, read the installation manual as it provides the correct procedure for installation. Nevertheless, we have simplified this process below.

Tools and Materials

  • The Delta Kessler faucet kit
  • Screwdriver
  • Socket wrench
  • Foam gasket
  • Silicone caulk

Step 1: Install the Spout

The first thing when installing a Delta Kessler faucet is to install the spout. Thread the fixing screws into the mounting nut and ensure only a few threads are in. Apply the foam gasket on the spout and slide it through the hole in the sink. Fasten the mounting nut and metal washer up to the underside of the sink.

Once you have fastened the mounting nut as much as possible, tighten the screws using a screwdriver.

Combining the screws and the mounting nut will ensure the complete security of the spout to the sink.

Alternatively, you can use silicone caulk if the foam gasket is not enough to seal the fixture.

Step 2: Install the Valve

Apply the foam gasket to the tubes and place it on the hollow at the base of the valve. Slide the tubes through the hole in the sink as you hold the gasket in place. Align the valve at the center by aligning the tip of the valve straight out facing the sink.

Using a socket wrench or the tool available, tighten the mounting bracket and nut from under the sink. Ensure that the valve remains straight, facing the direction you want as you tighten. This is because sometimes it can twist a little as you tighten.

Step 3: Install the Sprayer Hose

Slide the sprayer head through the threaded end of the sprayer hose, hand tighten it, and then connect the hose guide onto the other side of the sprayer hose through to the underside of the sink. Disconnect the hose guide and apply the weight onto the hose.

Attach the sprayer hose to the valve hose and push together the ends of the hoses. Install the clip to secure and hold them in place. Pull the sprayer out as you check if the horse catches on anything under the sink. If the hose tangles up during the installation, it won't be easy to use the sprayer.

Step 4: Connect the Water Lines

Connect the cold and hot water lines. The faucet hoses may vary in size, but most new faucet hoses are 3/8 inches and require joining to a 3/8-inch angle stop. To fix the water lines, use your hand to thread the flex lines and make sure they do not cross-thread. Finally, use a wrench or pliers to tighten them.

Some people may decide to use an adapter to connect the water lines to the existing angle stops if they don't have 3/8-inch angle stops. However, it would be better to change them.

Step 5: Install the Faucet Trim

Hand-screw the valve trim. Slide the handle onto the valve and use a set screw to tighten it. Once you tighten the handle and the set screw, fix the button that secures the set screw.

Step 6: Check for Leaks

Ensure that the valve handle is out of its position. Check for leaks by turning on the angle stops from under the sink.

Flush out the sprayer hose before using the faucet. Pull out the sprayer head and disconnect it from the hose. This should be done while holding the sprayer hose. As you hold the sprayer hose, turn on both cold and hot sides of the faucet to allow the flowing water to flush out everything in the water lines. After a few minutes, turn off the water and screw the sprayer head back.

At this point, it is good to check if there are any leaks underneath the sink. Check after a few hours, and once again the following day. Just a little water leaking under the sink may cause mold and cabinet damage after some time.
