Fasco HVAC Motors

Some of the Fasco HVAC AC motors are part of fans, air conditioners, heaters, compressors and fans. The Fasco belt drives HVAC AC motors and the Fasco direct drive blowers circulate air within roof ventilators and circulators.

The cool air that is generated by room air conditioners is circulated by room air conditioner AC motors. On the other hand, motors that provide power to the hot water circulation pumps are known as water air circulator AC motors.

The motors that circulate heat out of the heater and into the room are known as unit heater AC motor power fans. All the lingering combustion gasses in the furnace applications are removed by the Fasco draft booster AC motors. The electric transformers are cooled by transformer cooling AC motors power fans.

Fasco also designs, manufactures and produces horsepower motors, gear motors, blowers, Fasco AC motors, DC motors and linear actuators. It has been almost a century now that Fasco has engineered and developed a line of electric motors and blowers for several industries.

How to Repair the Fasco Electric Motors

It is needless to say, the first thing to do would be to check if the equipment is plugged in and turned on. This should be done for large motors, since there may be a gap between the power source and motor connections. The fuses and the circuit breaker have to be checked as well.

Another reason for the failure of the Fasco electric motors is damaged coils. The problem may be with the coil insulation which may cause a short. It's recommended to replace the coil in such a case.

For the DC motors, the commutator brushes usually get damaged when they begin wearing out. It is quite easy and cost-effective to replace these Fasco commutator brushes. Also, the permanent magnets can be upgraded to rare earth magnets for better performance of the units and replaced as well.

Problems with the bearing are usually evident when the Fasco electric motors make loud and odd noises. However, bearings can last years or they can be prone to damages almost instantly. Shut the motor down to avoid damages to the motor and the environment at large and have it inspected as well.

Solutions for Fixing the Fasco Parts

Is your Fasco furnace blower not running? Here are some solutions:

Blower Motor

Air is blown out of the return vent by the Fasco blower motor, past the heat exchanger and into the home’s venting system. Ensure that power is getting to the motor as it should. If there is no problem with the power getting to the motor, and the motor still fails to run, the motor is burned out. Replace the Fasco motor with a new one.

If the Fasco blower motor is humming, check the blower fan just to be sure that it spins freely and nothing is interfering with it. If there is no obstruction interfering with the blower fan, replace the Fasco blower motor with a new one.

Capacitor

If the capacitor is defective, this may result in the Fasco fan motor is noisy. It may also overheat or fail to run.

Inspect the capacitor carefully using a meter. If there is confirmation that the capacitor is leaking or bulging, you will need to replace it with a new one.

Control Board

Power supply to all the components of the furnace is normally regulated by the control board. A defective control board will not send voltage to the Fasco blower motor.

Incoming Power Problem

Always check first if there is power within the furnace. If the furnace is not getting power as it should, it is recommended that you check the furnace circuit breaker or fuse.

Benefits of Fasco Motors and Blowers

With time, you may have to replace a worn-out Fasco motor and Fasco blower.

In the process of finding the right motor that will be used for replacement, it can be quite difficult to find one that can lower costs, drive performance and are affordable. It is highly recommended to consider Fasco motors and blower for the following reasons:

  1. Fan Blades: The Fasco fan blades are known to provide superior performance as compared to the fan blades of other brands. Smooth operation automatically means the elimination of any noise. This drastically improves the work environment.

  2. Easy Mounting: The Fasco fan blades fit the motors. They are also designed to fit into bearing motors together with a shaft adapter. The Fasco fans are available in 3/16” to about 3/8” shaft diameters in 6”-12” fan diameters.

  3. Good Fit: The Fasco motors and blades can fit under conditions where the fit might be a little tight. They are also made in a way that they can operate in two directions that allows for greater flexibility as well.

  4. Energy Efficient: In particular, the Fasco Electronically Commutated Motor (ECM) is made to save energy when it is installed in heating and cooling systems. While energy is being saved, other costs are lowered as a result for the end-user. The carbon footprint created by the device is also reduced in the process.
Essentially, the average consumer can save up to about 25% on the general annual operating costs.

  5. Quieter Operation: Fasco motors operate quietly due to the thickness of the blades. The size of the blades can dampen vibrations which would eventually be transferred to the air stream. Maintaining a quieter work environment is important since it ultimately reduces the risk of safety hazards.

Conclusion
Fasco motors are perfect for all the HVAC systems!
