Causes for a Leaking Hansgrohe Faucet:

1. Bad or Faulty O-Ring

A loose or worn-out O-ring could be the reason the Hansgrohe faucet is leaking. The O-ring is the small disc that is found on the stem screw and holds the faucet handle in place. If the kitchen faucet handle is leaking, the O-rings are probably faulty.

2. Worn-Out Cartridge

A leaking Hansgrohe faucet is often caused by a worn-out cartridge. In this case, the cartridge should be replaced with a new one. Make sure that the cartridge you buy is the exact fit as the old one that you want to replace.

3. Corroded Valve Seat

If the leak originates from the spout, then the fault may be on the valve seat. The valve seat is what connects the faucet to the spout. Corrosion and mineral build-up from the water flowing from the spout may be the cause of the leak from the valve seat. Clean the valve seat regularly to avoid the build-up.

4. Worn-Out Washers

The washer is what rests against the valve seat in the faucet. The friction may cause the washer to wear out. A leak could be a result of the wrong size installed. This may occur in compression faucets.

5. Worn-Out Seals

Both the inlet and outlet seals can get corroded by the accumulation of water sediments, just like the valve seats. These need to be regularly and thoroughly cleaned.

6. Water Pressure

There is a problem with the water pressure if the faucet drips during certain times, or whenever you move the faucet in a different direction.

7. Loose Parts

Loose parts may also contribute to a leak. For instance, the adjusting and packing nuts could come loose over time, which can cause the faucet handle to leak. To fix this, tighten the packing nut or replace it with a new one.

8. Broken Parts

A broken pipe or fitting can cause a leak from under the sink. It is best to contact a professional plumbing service to fix this.

How to Repair Hansgrohe Faucets

Tools

4 in -1 screwdriver

Allen wrench

Pliers

Slip joint pliers

Faucet repair kit

O-ring seals

1. Disconnect the Hansgrohe spray hose from the connection.

Loosen the Allen screw. Turn off the water supply. Lift the handle and pry off the decorative cover to expose the screw. Turn the screw counterclockwise until it is loose enough to lift the handle from the stem. If the water is leaking out around the base of the faucet handle, you may be able to fix the leak by removing the handle and simply tightening the adjusting ring slightly. Turn it clockwise with the spanner tool. If the faucet drips from the end of the spout, replace the seats and springs.

2. Remove the cap.

Unscrew the cap by turning it counterclockwise with slip-joint pliers

3. Remove the rotary ball.

Lift off the plastic cam and packing. Lift out the ball and inspect it—replace the ball if it is scratched, cracked or visibly worn.

4. Remove and replace the seat and springs.

Lift out the two rubber seats and springs with a screwdriver. Drop the new springs in the recesses and press the new rubber seats over the top with your fingertip. Align the groove in the ball with the pin in the socket, and drop the ball. Align the lug on the plastic cam with the notch in the valve body, and tighten it with the slip-joint pliers. Turn on the water to check for leaks. If the water leaks from around the ball stem, use the spanner tool to tighten the adjusting ring until the leak stops. Replace the leaking faucet handle.

5. Remove the disc cartridge (if it is a ceramic disc faucet).

6. Pry off the decorative screw cover with your finger. Unscrew the handle crew by turning it counterclockwise with an Allen wrench. Lift off the handle. Unscrew or unclip the cap.

7. Remove the disc cartridge.

Leaks can result from faulty rubber seals or cracked discs inside the cartridge. If it continues leaking, remove the disc cartridge and replace it.

8. Remove the screws that hold the disc cartridge.

Remove the screws of the disc cartridge, lift out the cartridge, and replace the seals in the cartridge. Inspect the cartridge for mineral buildup and clean it. Replace the rubber seals on the underside.

9. Replace the O-ring seals.

Lift out the plastic disc and replace the O-rings. Inspect the holes in the faucet body and clean them out if necessary.

To repair a leaking spout: Remove the handle and cartridge. Twist and pull on the spout to remove it, ensuring the O-ring seals are exposed. If the sprayer is not working properly, clean it with vinegar or replace it.

9. Replace the O-rings.

Slide the O-rings out of the groove using the tip of a screwdriver. Install the new O-rings and lubricate them with plumbers grease. Reinstall the spout. Turn the water back on and check to see if there are any other leaks in the faucet.
