The HONEYWELL Pilot ASSM (Pilot Automatically Shuts Off) features a pilot that is automatically shut off when the main gas valve is opened. This helps prevent overheats and fires by eliminating the buildup of pilot gas in the boiler. The ignition electrode may be broke off during shipping. This is not harmful to the operation of the unit, so long as the electrode will fit into the air tube.
