The Lennox 42W30 R410A Expansion Valve is used in Lennox 22ND through 35ND Single Stage and 21SD-110/120. This Product allows cold outside air to move into the furnace plenum in the fall and spring to maintain the proper temperature of the house, but when hot summer days arrive, this valve must close so that hot air in the house can be pushed out by the HVAC blower motor.
