The Flame Vapor Sensor is a safety device that protects the hot water heater from burner flame failure due to insufficient combustion air. A control driver, which receives input signals from a unique combination of sensors, provides adjustable flame detection at a safe distance. The Flame Vapor Sensor designs are totally enclosed, electrical hazard combustible gas and vapor tight and compatible with dedicated natural gas or propane appliances.

The innovative Flame Vapor Sensor monitors fire and flame in gas-fired appliances, providing quick visual verification that the appliance is operating normally. The easy-to-install Flame Vapor Sensor works with gas logs, oil-fired appliances, dryers, ovens, and boilers. It's lightweight and compact for easy shipping and handling. Special features include a visible indication light and audible alarm.

The Flame Vapor Sensor (FVS) is designed to protect the drier by sensing a flame condition within the gas piping system. The FVS is available for use with AGA-35/AJA-35, AGA-45/AJA-45, and AGA-60/AJA-60 gas water heaters only, and will fit on the inlet tubing downstream of all automatic gas valves within the gas piping system. Inspect the gas piping system for leaks annually to help prevent damage to your furnace caused by high moisture levels.

The Flame Vapor Sensor by A.O. Smith® is designed to shut off gas appliances upon sensing the presence of flame, protecting against flashback ignition. It also shuts off the gas supply if it senses water or ice, safeguarding against scalding and freezing.

The Flame Vapor Sensor detects heat in the event of a gas line rupture, gas leak or other ignition source within the Appliance Assembly. Alerting customers to immediately ventilate the area, the Flame Vapor Sensor may limit or prevent fire and/or damage to property. For use with AO Smith, Hotpoint, and RPL gas type appliances only.

The Flame Vapor Sensor uses the latest technology to monitor the volatile organic compounds or VOCs from your appliance and alerts you to a potential fire. The flame vapor sensor also turns off the gas valve in your garage if there is a gas leak to reduce emergency situations.
