The R500-1/2 is for applications and locations which require a coiled spring to be mounted off center. The coiled spring is attached with threading that is not perpendicular to the lever. These springs are rated for a maximum operating temperature of 250F (120 C) and are not recommended for aesthetics. Where more than one spring is used on one valve, it is recommended that the springs all be wound in the same direction to prevent excessive wear on the threaded portion of the valve stem.
