The sprocket shaft is attached to the blade by way of a torsion spring, which you can see at the bottom of the handle (just above the battery housing). It's usually obvious when this spring breaks because it causes severe vibration during use.

There are many springs used in your riding mower that are vital for smooth operation. This spring helps to keep the wheels from moving forward and backward while you are mowing.

The Garden Way 72" mower deck is made for 36 to 42 HP tractors. It features offset spacers and mounting holes allowing it to be used on either 9N, 2N, or 3N series tractors. A grease fitting makes periodic lubrication easy and necessary. The deck is equipped with a new pivot-point design and large torsion stops to prevent twisting.
