The TXV valve is a small, easily mounted device that separates refrigerant from a gas cylinder upon installation.
The TXV Valve controls the refrigerant flow in a reverse cycle heat pump to charge the outdoor condensing unit. The purpose of this is to regulate the amount of refrigerant delivered to the compressor so that it does not overcharge the unit. It is a safety device, as an overcharged system can overheat and cause an explosion.
