The HOT SURFACE IGNITER ASSM is used with many brands and models of kerosene and natural gas, electric, and LP gas fueled appliances. The igniter is COMPLETELY automatic; automatically switching to an "OFF" condition within seconds after the flame is extinguished. This item can also be found under model numbers R0016400 and R0016400-5.

Replacement Hot Surface Igniter ASSM is designed for and sold with the hot surface ignition system. It is a plug-in style igniter.

The Hot Surface Igniter ASM is an integral part of the Aqua-Hot Heat System. It mounts on the control valve to provide heat to the heater coil. On production models, a solid state assembly is used which generates spark and modulates gas flow to the heater coil in response to remote control signals

The Aqua Group R0016400 Hot Surface Igniter Assembly from United replaces the original burner igniter assembly in the Aqua Source Ultra OASES and the Aqua Source Panorama Series systems. The parts dealer no longer carries these igniters, and we were able to get a supply of them in from the company, so that we could serve our customers with OEM factory parts.

A new HOT surface igniter is used in TBB48HC series and can prevent the damage of the magnetic switch caused by high temperature.

Aqua-Logix™ hot surface igniters are designed to allow a water heater or boiler to remain in standby mode, with natural gas, oil or propane set at a fixed low pressure. This configuration allows the burner to be started at the push of a button and the burner flame to be turned on/off only when needed. This design also requires no on-board pressurized gas storage.
