With the Ruud Systems Reversing Valve Assembly, you can replace your old or failed reversing valve. It consists of a reversing valve, a check valve and a flanged orifice valve. This equipment is easy to install and back-washes through an external filter in those instances where the system must be drained. It comes complete with all necessary hardware for an easy installation, and it does not include a coil. A reversing valve is the most economical way to work with an outdoor unit that radiates heat into two zones (or more). It works without a secondary coil, and it should be installed between the outdoor condensing unit and the indoor air handler (the indoor coil).

This package contains a new replacement reversing valve, coil harness assembly and a solenoid valve. (Manual valves are not available). This will complete any of the Ruud/Rheem boiler model numbers in the table below.

The RHEEM 61-001-684-93 reversing valve features include: Stainless Steel Snap Action Solenoid Coil, Diaphragm Mounting, 2-1/8" x 1-3/4" reducing union connection, Straight or Reversing Capabilities, and Completely assembled. This valve assembly is for use whenever you want to reduce down to 1/2" pipe size and need to reverse from one direction to the other in the middle of the run. You would use this valve when you have shut off valves on both ends of the pipe that you are reducing into a coil or lateral line

A reversing valve allows the water pressure to be reversed so it can be used on both a tankless water heater and a tank-type water heater.
