The RHEEM Expansion Valve (TXV) is a two inch Male x Two-inch Male and 2-inch Female x 2-inch Female.

The Rheem Expansion Valve (TXV) is designed to relieve excess pressure from your air conditioner and redistribute it evenly throughout your home, allowing you to get the most out of your cooling system. This expansion valve will fit most standard 3/4in copper tubing installations and bolts easily onto your refrigerant line. Made of durable brass, this 24-volt expansion valve features a 1/2in gas port and is compatible with all Rheem brand split systems.

This is an Brand Name Expansion Valve (TXV) for use with Ruud/Ruud Heat Pump products.

Tests have shown that, with most gas furnaces not only energy use but also efficiency decreases as the gas pressure goes down. Ruud developed this expansion valve (TXV) to counteract this pressure drop. The expansion valve (TXV) senses when a decrease in gas pressure occurs and will increase burn rate to help maintain efficiency.

Expansion valves made by Rheem are used to help regulate the refrigerant flow into the compressor to prevent over-pressurization.

The Expansion Valve is a heat exchanger within an air conditioning system that regulates the refrigerant. It combines the high pressure liquid refrigerant with low pressure (ambient) air to produce a saturated vapor refrigerant under the set conditions. Refrigeration coils in air handlers, central air conditioners and Heat Pumps function with the help of this device.
