It comes with a 3/8 in barbed connection on it and easy to install I was able to do this all by myself. This Expansion Valve is also known as TXV, replacing the Rheem's Ref # RCQB-D036 TXV.

The two-stage expansion valve is used to regulate the flow of refrigerant into a high-temperature evaporator. It senses a rise or drop in temperature and regulates the amount of refrigerant flow by opening and closing the needle valve. It's built from durable, reliable materials. If you notice any unusual noise from inside your AC unit, call a technician to find out if it's caused by an expansion valve.
Rheem split system air conditioners utilize an expansion valve (TXV) to control the flow of refrigerant through the outdoor unit. A failure of this component often results in reduced cooling efficiency, reduced capacity, high electric bills and compressor overloading. Rheem offers quality replacement parts to repair your cooling system. This component is non-serviceable, contact a service technician for replacement.
This is part of your water heater system. It controls the refrigerant process in your water heater. It has an inlet (cold water), outlet (heated water), and internal diaphragm that separates the two flow paths. The diaphragm moves back and forth to allow flow from one side to the other depending on the system requirements.
