The Rheem Pressure Switch is used to turn off the water supply to the water heater when a loss of pressure is detected and, depending on its position, either turn it back on or shut it off completely. This is achieved by an internal diaphragm that over-fills the switch until the point where it causes a contact to be moved from its original position.

The pressure switch is designed to control the burner flame in a natural gas or propane gas space heater that is wall mounted.
