The Rheem-Ruud PD955610 24VAC/VDC NEMA 2 Actuator is for use with compatible Ruud brand models of equipment only. These include Wall Bide, Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners (PTAC) systems, floor furnaces and boilers manufactured by Ruud. This actuator is equipped with a SCR (Silicon Controlled Switching) circuit that provides precise temperature control. It also has a built-in thermal overload that will shut down the motor if it reaches a dangerously high temperature.

This 2-speed controller is used in the Rheem-Ruud Group Size 2, 3, 4 and 5 residential configurations. A combination of single-pole and double-pole coils can be connected to a 24 volt circuit. A built-in manual reset thermal overload protects the motor circuit from overloading due to an external malfunction. A manual reset pushbutton is wired in parallel with the diagnostic LED's state of readiness. The cooling fan only comes on at first use of the heater or whenever there is a functional failure of the heating element.
