Concordia: Balearica/Cyprus is the fifth part in a series of games about the development of the great trade empires of antiquity. It allows players to take on the roles of governors of Roman provinces in the eastern Mediterranean, either as individuals or as members of two to four player teams. Over eight turns (seasons), each lasting three months, players strive to build trading posts along the shores and cities in their provinces. In turn, they will receive various benefits based on how far along they are in building these structures.

Concordia: Balearica/Cyprus is the 5th expansion for the hot-selling, award-winning game of negotiation and development set in Roman times! It contains two modules for Concordia. The first module, Concordia: Balearica, takes place on the island of Majorca in 270 BC. The second module, Concordia: Cyprus includes a new map, and the rules needed to play the game.

This is a strategy game for 2 to 5 players. As an ancient Roman governor in the province of Cyrenaica, you must develop the five cities of the region (Cyrene, Ptolemais, Arsinoe, Berenice and Marmarica) while increasing your political influence at Rome. In order to do this you will need to gain prestige points by constructing buildings and monuments or through your military victories against the Barbarians.

This is a complete two-sided game board for the 2013 edition of Concordia. One side features the expansion map "Balearica" by designer Jason Matthews. The other side features the previously-released expansion map "Cyprus" by designer Jens Drögemüller and Volko Ruhnke. It is big, beautiful, and made of sturdy cardboard.

The year is 275 BC. The Greek colonies of the Mediterranean face a new and unexpected threat. Carthage, a rising power in the west of the continent, has turned its gaze towards the islands and mainland of Greece. In Carthage, all eyes are on Sicily. In Greece, all eyes are on Syracuse. A clash between these two powers is inevitable and when it comes, it will be bloody and terrible. Concordia: Balearica/Cyprus adds a new map to Concordia adding additional variety for players to explore with their home cities as well as providing a whole new challenge in conquering others' home cities!

In the Mediterranean, the Roman Republic is striving to expand and prosper, while also attempting to prevent its provinces from crumbling into chaos. The game is played over a number of rounds, with each player taking a turn as governor of a province. Over the course of several rounds, players will build buildings in their province, collect income from their buildings and purchase new buildings with this income. To win you must raise enough money to build a Temple in your province and trigger its special ability.

Arriving in the middle of May, Concordia: Balearica/Cyprus is the first installment of a popular European-style board game that has been making its way across the Atlantic. In Concordia, you strive to become Governor of an entire Greek city-state. You'll have to develop your city, produce goods and build a trade network. At the same time you can send your citizens to numerous festivals and gain glory by winning victories at sport games.
