Euphrates & Tigris is a cross between the river-building game of Canals and the tile placement and hand management of Carcassonne. Players are competing to be the first to build a continuous path from Euphrates to Tigris, collecting points for unique tiles that can be added along the way. Collecting cards is key as these special tiles give additional points, and some allow players to utilize the powers on opponents' tiles.

Euphrates & Tigris, designed by Reiner Knizia, is a card game of collecting and playing cards. You are a merchant, who travels along the Euphrates River and your task is to buy goods cheapest possible in Baghdad and then to sell them at a higher price in Basra and Nasiriyah.

In Euphrates & Tigris, players control the development of Mesopotamia and experience the lives and fortunes of rulers from the past while playing this fun and fast new strategy card game. Using a unique branching system, players can choose which of eight different paths to build along as they play.

Inspired by the historical trading route connecting Afghanistan and Iraq, Euphrates & Tigris is the first card game that is played on a map, using a deck of cards instead of dice or other markers.
