The Viking Electronics RAD-1A is a line powered remote access device (RAD). The RAD-1A features four TTY ports, connection for two analog telephone lines, and an RJ-45 10/100 Ethernet jack on the front panel. Each port is independent and supports speeds of up to 56 Kbps. With the RJ-45 port, operators can connect devices via network cable to implement solutions such as VPNs, remote dial-in servers, or other network applications.

Ideal for a workstation or server room, this device uses its Ethernet port to send and receive data from network devices. It supports an RJ-45 cable for use in wired networks as long as 100 ft. The Ethernet ports are shielded by a metal cover to reduce electromagnetic interference. This device also has a built-in serial port on one side, which passes through to the back of the device.
