R-134a/PAG EZ-Ject A/C dye can be used as a crude leak detection fluid. Simply spray the dye on a suspected leak, and see if the color change indicates a leak location. If so, then use a refrigerant recovery machine with suction to recover that particular refrigerant from the air. This dye allows you to find repairs which were not visible with the naked eye, but rather difficult to locate using common work methods.

R-134a/PAG EZ-Ject dye is a safe, nonflammable, low toxicity, and easy to use solution that permanently identifies refrigerant lines. It is mixed with water and injected into the A/C lines with a leak detection pump. This dye will identify all refrigerant leaks as well as any contamination in the refrigerant circuit. After injection the line must be purged of air to ensure proper circulation of the dye and to avoid any refrigerant pressure buildup. This dye can be used with the LeakMaster III Series of leak detection pumps.
