An Electric Ignitor is an electronic device used to start a gas furnace when the power goes out. The ignitor's job is to strike an arc by closing an electrical circuit to the gas valve, and, in turn, make the gas flow in that circuit. Igniters usually fail due to overheating from being used too many times, or other various malfunctions. This is an AMANA OEM factory-upgraded replacement for Amana furnaces with model number 164129. Be aware that this item does not come with instructions.

The new and improved Amana two wire gas wall ignitor is designed to work with the fan control circuit board and ¾" thermostat included in Amana furnace model numbers AMC97ADB, AMC97AHB, AMC97AJB, AMC98CAH, AMC98CAL, AMC98CAS, AMC98DAB, and AMC98DAC. It has a single igniter rod and will operate all models with a 2-wire single stage controller. The ignitation rod works within an 18k ohm range.
