The Milton Industries MIL1071 Milton 1/2" Desiccant Dryer System is a 1/2inch desiccant dryer which can be used for drying flue gases, exhaust circuits, absorbers as well as chemicals. It offers performance gains against 8% moisture in the supply air but with a relatively limited range of applications. With a capacity of 4ton and an airflow of 915 cfm, this desiccant dryer system has dimensions of 4 x 19 x 22.6 inches.

The Milton Industries MIL1071 is a 1/2" thick desiccant dryer cartridge for use with the Milton Industries BR100-W 100-watt Booster Dehumidifier. This cartridge consists of a polypropylene filter material and a lithium hydroxide desiccant inside. The desiccant, when saturated with moisture, changes to lithium chloride, which generates heat as it reacts. The heat from the reaction is transferred from the desiccant to the polypropylene heating surface, ensuring that moisture is pulled efficiently out of the air passing through the unit.

A desiccant dryer system can have several different arrangements, each one with its own specific advantages and disadvantages. Arrangements can be simple, or quite complicated. Regardless of arrangement, what they all have in common is the use of absorptive type material to remove moisture from air.
