The Schlage 16-126 Series Dead Latch is an economical, unlatching solution for a wide variety of homes and applications. The dead latch strikes the center of the door when shut. It will not latch by itself and can be used as a non-latching solution. This exterior grade dead latch may be installed on interior or exterior doors (but exterior use only if surface is protected from exterior elements). Includes keys with restricted master keying to help prevent copying and sharing with non-keyed entrance points.

Our 16-126 Dead Latch is part of our 620 SERIES, a line of both privacy and electronic locks designed for use with cylindrical latchbolts. This model has a thumbturn deadbolt and comes in an ANSI Antique finish.

The Schlage 16126620 Deadlatch features a latch that prevents intrusion, and a striker plate that allows for the installation of a lock. This latch works on doors 1 3/8" to 2 3/4" thick. The Schlage 16126 features a cylindrical thumb-turn to operate deadbolts.
