The ROBERTSHAW 17970 Pilot & Electrode, 90 Degree Left can be used with any of our products where a grounded electrode is required. This includes all linear motions with pilot hole model numbers ending in "EH" and all X axis saddle rolls with a 1/2"-16 socket head cap screw. The 17970 is not to be used with zero-clearance models.

The Robertshaw 17970 Pilot & Electrode Assembly provides a controlled arc established by a pilot, which directs an arc stream from an electrode toward the workpiece for soldering, brazing, or welding manually or automatically.

This pilot and electrode assembly is designed to be used with a power supply or battery for general purpose soldering purposes. The wedge-shaped pilot provides precise heat control, while the two pistol grip handles make it both comfortable and easy to use.

The Pilot-17970 is designed for vertical service mounting in the 90 degree position. The base of pilot electrode is plated steel with an 8" inch lead wire. The body consists of a potted ceramic filled epoxy with a glass button target and a non-slip rubber pad.

Built specifically for demanding environment requirements. Its unique design allows the pilot wire to be installed on the left or the right. The pilot electrode is often used with certain test leads, and most custom terminal strip box mounting designs.

This right angle connector is designed for pilot hole and counterbore applications where the work may be at a horizontal or incline position. Simply mount the electrode into the Pilot and Electrode tool, slide into position, release, and tighten the chuck. Used with a gas-actuated gun to make horizontal or slanted holes. The pilot tip has five cutting edges to increase the hole size in one pass.
