The 55828 Emerson multi-stage heat pump digital programmable thermostat provides individual comfort and energy saving performance. This quality 48 volt thermostat is designed for direct connection to the 24 V transformer. This enables the individual stage heating and cooling decisions by the thermostat when connected to a heat pump, most air conditioners, or central furnace systems.

The WHITE-RODGERS® Emerson 5-2 Programmable thermostat, part number 55828 controls multi-stage heat pump systems to manage hot water and pool pump motors as well. It's for use with most 24V multi-stage heat pump systems. It's also capable of scheduling heating and cooling stages, in spring and fall, to add humidity to the air.

This thermostat is designed for 24-V multi-stage heat pump systems. The digital time clock has a 60-minute countdown in 1 minute increments with temperature set point adjustment of 1º, +4º F (0.6º C), and programming by day/month/year. It monitors supply voltage on receptacle terminals. Controls heating, cooling, and auxiliary loads, including gas / electric water heater (maximum 100 amps), heat pump compressor (up to 250 amps), indoor air handler, dehumidifier, ventilation fan (maximum 50 watts), lights, and valves.

The Emerson 5-2 Day Programmable Thermostat is designed to control heat pumps by adjusting set point temperature, start and stop times, and compressor and fan start and stop. The Emerson 5-2 Day Programmable Thermostat is compatible with gas, oil, wood/pellet, electric or combination units. This thermostat is easy to install. The coil sensor included with this digital thermostat must be installed on the air handler for automatic changeover of multi-stage heat pumps. The 55828 is a Day/Cycle programmable thermostat for heat pump systems. It provides 24-VAC dedicated wiring for a single stage heat pump system. The module is mounted on the outdoor unit, and connects directly to the 24-VAC control circuit terminals with simple screw terminal connections.
