The Robert Shaw 4487 Hot Surface Furnace Ignitor is a surface furncace ignitor to replace old, worn out, or weak furnace ignitors. This item is used in gas, and oil furnaces.
A hot surface furnace ignitor is used to ignite gas burners located across the top of most hot surface furnaces. Since the burners are located directly over the flame tubes, they must be ignited in order for the furnace to heat properly. This particular furnace ignitor is equipped with a stainless steel face plate and removable "X" ring for easy replacement.
