Kickstart (TO5)

The Protech is a self-contained domestic water heating unit which is ideal for installation outside of vertical surfaces such as internal walls or adjacent to, cleanouts, downpipes or rainwater downpipes. It is suitable for installations where the water source pressure is 0.15 to 0.30 bar and the minimum flow rate is 10 litres per minute. It incorporates a highly visible Kickstart (TO5) thermal expansion valve that protects against air and water hammer and has a temperature range of 30°C to 125°C.

The new Rheem Protech KickStart(TM) System uses a condensing unit starter that enables the system to be started and operated with a small amount of refrigerant. This patented technology is ideal for applications in which full unit operations would normally be limited due to low refrigerant charge or convenience receptacle availability.
