Demand Defrost Control Board

When your refrigerator does not properly freeze food, the Demand Defrost Control Board may be defective. This Control Board is designed to keep the freezer from defrosting when no one is around to make sure you stay on schedule. The Demand Defrost Control Board is a control board used in Rheem heat pumps and Ruud air conditioners that will cycle off the compressor to keep the coil frost-free when the outdoor air temperature is warmer than 46°F. If the indoor unit starts to frost up, this control board will order the compressor on for 65 seconds every hour.

The Demand Defrost Control Board works with any combination systems that are designed with either two or three stage components, allowing the pump to be turned on and off as needed by the thermostat.

The Protech Demand Defrost Control Board is a great replacement for the original equipment. This board is 25 ohms, 12 volts DC. It controls the defrost cycle time and rated at 15 amps. The board has a operating temperature of 90 degrees Celsius and is CSA approved.

The demand defrost control board is a defrost control circuit board. It is designed to replace the defrost/heat/run interface board that makes up the heat pump controller circuit. This demand defrost board monitors the heat pump's compressor operation and modulates the defrost cycle when temperatures fall below a set point, thus reducing energy usage.
