Discal Air Separator 1" NPT
The Discal Air Separator is an easy to use compressor air dryer. The unit works primarily as a coalescer of large droplets by the action of a centrifugal separator, but at the same time it also filters out airborne dust and contaminates, or oil mist from lubricated compressors during air conditioning breakdowns. This coalescing filter is equipped with a venturi which provides a vacuum-like effect on the fluid passing through it.

The Discal Air Separator 551006A is a bulkhead mount air separator assembly. It is typically mounted at the inlet of a horizontal center line sludge pump so that air can be removed from the suction side of the pump to prevent entrainment of air into the wastewater stream. Also serves to protect against pumping dry and damage to the equipment due to cavitation. This unit can be used on either hot or cold water applications and is designed for discharge to a dewatering sewer or recovery device.
The Discal Air Separator is designed to be installed in a gas pipeline and stack to remove air from the pipeline. It has a single flute axial-flow vane that forms a swirl venturi on the suction side of the air separator to provide pressurized air for communication with the tank.

A t the heart of the Discal air separator is a specially engineered micrometer valve equipped with an anti-vacuum safety device. The valve sets, houses and seals two concentric discs made of flexible metal elements which rotate inside the valve housing. When the separating cone is inserted between the rotating discs, it separates and isolates the compressed air from the liquid being transferred. The resultant compressed air leaves through one of two ports, while the liquid passes through the other port. These devices have a temperature rating of -10°C (-14°F) to +80°C (+176°F).
