VR8200A Gas Valve

The Protech Gas Valve is a genuine rheem gas valve. Fits gas valves manufactured from 2008 through the present, and all VR8200A gas valves.

The Protech Rheem 175649 Gas Valve is the a great replacement for those water heaters and gas furnaces that were previously installed with Ruud/Protech or VR8200A Gas Valves. If you have to replace your filter after installing this product, we recommend replacing it after every 6 months to ensure that your water heater operates under the best conditions.

The VR8200A is a combination gas valve that can replace old and/or problematic gas valves. The valve contains high limit, PTO, and two stage temperature controls. This combination valve is made specifically for Rheem and Ruud heat pumps but may be compatible with other brand applications.

The VR8200A replaces the VR100a2 and VR152a2 gas valves manufactured by Ruud and Protech. Features a weather-proof stainless steel spring, plastic over-temperature safety device, factory installed gold plated 0.5 micron filter disc, and a replaceable wire wrapped thermocouple. This valve also features an air relief float as opposed to a ball float.

A gas valve that is neither made by Rheem nor Ruud, but it is compatible with most Rheem APN's, and of course made in China. In fact, all Protech parts are made in China. This specific VR8200A replaces the following Rheem APNs: AP360172R90, AP370809R91, AP370067R91

This product features a stainless steel housing with a metal wire harness, and includes a new gas valve with locknut.
